Women in Business is a networking group made up of women business owners. Our mission is continued growth and strength in business by promoting and supporting one another. With this goal in mind, we strive to create a voice and power for the success of women entrepreneurs.
We meet the second Monday of every month 6:00– 6:30 social, 6:30-7:30 business. Upcoming in 2008 we have some exciting speakers scheduled, fundraisers for the WIB Scholarship Fund, and many events to help our community including drives to benefit Women’s Lunch Place and Children’s Hospital.
In the past, we have participated in such activities as, Norwood Day, Craft Fair in Walpole, appeared on “Let’s Talk Business” on Norwood Cable Access channel, creation of a “coupon page”, and a welcome wagon project. Through the administration of the Norwood Scholarship Foundation, we are creating a Women in Business Scholarship. To this effort, we held a huge yard sale, and have other fund raising activities in the works.
At this time we have a no-compete policy. What this means is that active members in good standing have the right to decide whether or not another business would be in competition with their own. This may mean that the new business cannot join WIB at this time. As we grow, this policy is likely to change/ evolve with us.
